Moving Up The Stack

We may just be past the era in which many geeks were interested in messing around with their computer’s (or phone’s) hardware or software internals. […]

I’d argue that, if that’s the case, we’re better off. That was an interesting time, but it’s time to move up the stack and mess around at higher levels.

When is this going to happen in the productivity world? When are we going to graduate past constantly tweaking our markdown writing systems (guilty) and just write? Doing reviews of our GTD system is part of the method, but so is getting things done. To which do we pay more attention?

Just as Marco has moved onto “grown-up computing”, let’s get past the cruft and push our work and thoughts to higher levels.
