Committing to Experiments in Speed
Tom Donhou of Donhou Bicycles in the short film about their project to build a bike that could break the land speed record:
The idea had been in my head for a while, you know, I’d sort of been thinking about it. This sort of thing needs a ‘fuck it’ point, like a tipping point, that point where you decide to jump off the top of that waterfall or something and you just have to commit to it. You have to see it through to the end.
Love the way he puts that. Starting projects isn’t always like “this idea is perfect, I’m going to do it” but often “I can’t stop thinking about this and what do I got to lose? Let’s do it.”
